It is part of a wider collection of tour events created by Golden Key Academy guides for the Open House Festival celebrating their conclusion of the eight month course.

This tour led by Zoe Harmer explores a lesser known side of one of London’s most glamorous neighbourhoods. Who were the people behind the squares and rows of Bloomsbury who kept the neighbourhood functioning?
Starting as far back as the 17th century when Bloomsbury was still fields, we will meet a certain "cowboy" property developer who changed that forever. Then, moving into the 18th and 19th centuries, explore how the working class in the area adapted to the wealthy’s flight away from Bloomsbury as urbanisation increased.

Grade II-listed Georgian domestic building c.1760, formerly part of Bedford Estate. Interior refurbished 1924-5 to form lecture hall (restored 2014), library, bookshop and offices. Oak woodwork and green Doulton tiles line the staircase.
