Mother X is a diverse group of artists, makers & creators that have inhabited a former Victorian chocolate factory in Hackney Wick for 15+ years. Come visit this unique building & see it's people & their work during the Open House Festival.

This walk focuses on industry, creativity and change in Hackney Wick and Fish Island, exploring how regeneration and gentrification have transformed the area.

A characterful factory, used for the manufacture of the first manmade plastic, was given a new future as an exemplary 21st century workplace for HTA Design. Our designers will lead tours explaining our renovation decisions and challenges.
