We are currently recruiting for volunteers to help at Open House this year, on Saturday 21st September 2019 – Sunday 22nd September 2019.
Open House is London's largest festival of architecture and design where over 800 buildings across London open their doors to the public for free. 8,000 people volunteer every year over the weekend event.
Volunteering slots for the next programme are not yet available.
- What is involved?
As a volunteer you will be helping building owners/representatives to open their buildings to the public. In a lot of cases, the buildings would not be able to open without volunteer support.
You only have to commit one morning or afternoon on one day during the event, and you will be able to choose a slot from a list of buildings which have requested support.
- Why should I volunteer?
97% of our volunteers would recommend the experience to a friend.
Helping to make Open House happen is a rewarding experience. It offers new experiences and skills, as well as providing a great opportunity to learn more about architecture and the built environment. As a thank you for volunteering, you will also receive:
- a volunteer priority badge which allows you to jump the queues at most buildings over the weekend
- a complimentary copy of the Open House guide (currently £7)
- invitation to the closing party held at one of our participating buildings on the Sunday evening
Note for Student Volunteers: We will send your volunteer priority badge and guide in the post in September so please make sure you include the address for your September student residence when you apply.
