About

Background

The UK office of global bank ING relocated to 8-10 Moorgate in 2016, from where it offers wholesale banking services to UK and global corporate clients. The building is a nine-storey office development located in the heart of the City, adjacent to the Bank of England and within the Bank conservation area. ING fitted out the building, which is home to both a modern British art collection and the Baring Archive.

Designed to integrate happily within the character of the surrounding area, the development occupies a city block of approximately 2,060 sqm consolidated into a single unified building.

The historic facade of 8-10 Moorgate has been retained, refurbished and incorporated into the scheme to form the principal frontage and entrance to the building.

The building is organised around a central core, the upper floors being largely column-free commercial offices with a typical fifteen-metre deep floor facade to core. The upper floors set back as the building rises in a series of accessible external terraces. An element of the ground floor of the development has been designed for retail use to address the existing retail cluster on Telegraph Street.

Use of space

ING opens the 7th Floor client reception and meeting rooms at 8-10 Moorgate for Open House, including two terraces with views of the City of London.

The interior on this floor blends references to history (such as stitched leather detailing and stone, herringbone floors) with clean lines and modern touches.

It also houses a collection of 20th Century British Art, which can be viewed during Open House.
