A contextual extension of a Victorian house that redefines the inside-outside connection. The inside features selected framed views of the garden, and cherry joinery that contrasts with the stainless steel kitchen and concrete floor.
The closest overground station is Rectory Road. Alternatively, there are several bus routes serving the area.
The project explores the inside-outside connection in a typical Victorian house. Large views frame the garden, while the interior materials are chosen to create an atmosphere that invites for contemplation. On the inside, the solid cherry joinery contrasts with the concrete floors and stainless steel kitchen, while the stained brick extension quietly blends in with the surroundings.

Early 20th C Grade II* listed church designed by CH Reilly. Byzantine in structure but prefiguring Modernism in its aesthetic, Nairn judged it “the best church of its date in London”, Reilly “the building I should like to be remembered by”.
