The archive and local studies centre at Valence House is a modern building housing the Borough of Barking and Dagenham's archive. It sits on the same site as Valence House Museum, a medieval moated manor house.

A selection of archive material relating to life on the Becontree Estate will be on display in the archive reading room. Everyone is welcome and we especially encourage local residents past and present to leave their thoughts and memories of life on the estate in relation to the material on display.
